The Strike Industries Bikini Hand Stop (BHS) gives the shooter increased ergonomics and control of the weapon. The hand stop is made from durable and lightweight polymer compatible with M-LOK rails. The BHS is bi-directional and can be mounted in either direction and includes two (2) per pack. The low-profile design with all rounded corners or smooth edges help to avoid snags. The SI Bikini Hand Stop gives the shooter a quick indexing point for faster weapon deployment which can be used in a “push” or “pull” style grip. You can mount the hand stop more forward on the handguard as it’s also designed to go in between your index and middle fingers. The more forward position on the handguard can help get the BHS out of the way when in a kneeling or prone position as well as other accessories and equipment. Also you can mount at 3 or 9 o’clock positions to use as a thumb ledge for applying downward pressure to mitigate recoil. Not too big and not too small!
Correct piece
I have been looking for a low-mass hand-stop for a project for a while. These fit the bill. As a pistol, it is geared toward quick-handling. As a 'truck gun' it is expected to be useful to a reasonable distance. Quick-handling is assisted by a index point for the support hand, preferably one that does not interfere or catch on things. The angles 'wedge' type and aluminum hand-stops of various configs all proved to be either too big, too heavy or compromised the ability to use it as brace for more distant work. Then I found these. Small enough to do the job, big enough to be functional in both roles. Light like poly, but stiff enough and flexible enough in both roles. I like how they compliment the dual roles of the project. I found that I prefer the index grip, where the nub is between the index and middle fingers when using it as a hand-stop, and when using it to jam the handguard against something to stabilize for a longer-range shot, it does very good without the drawbacks of other systems (dents, scratches, clearance issues laterally, off-angle shift tendency, directional bias). Think 'big enough to do the job, small enough to not get in the way' kind of deal. Are they perfect for all roles? Doubtful. But for what I run them for - assisting in control of a pistol-sized AR that may be doing close or not-so-close work, they are the right balance for me. With the project, I have found practice to be much easier, and hitting at greater range easier as well, thanks to better characteristics of this when bracing. For the price, it is hard to go wrong.
