The handguard provides an uninterrupted picatinny rail along the top which allows room for sights, optics and accessories. It is a mil-spec upper receiver chambered in 5.56mm with a 16-inch barrel precision machined from 4150 CMV steel and nitride coated providing the highest quality and unrivaled durability.  The receiver is hammer forged from mil-spec 7075-T6 aluminum with a type III hard coat providing the strength and toughness to withstand the most severe abuse and provide maximum corrosion resistance. It features a mid-length gas tube and low profile gas block for reliability and optimal performance in all conditions. This Stag 15 upper receiver checks all the boxes with 7075-T6 aluminum, type III hard coat anodized finish, a 1:7 twist rate, A2 flash hider and slim, lightweight profile.
