Faxon’s MATCH SERIES of barrels takes our renowned performance and value up a notch.
Manufactured 100% in-house from gun-barrel-quality bar-stock, the Match Series starts with 416-R in 5R rifling. 5R is a hybrid rifling, with lands opposite grooves and reduced sharp angles that reduces jacket deformation increasing velocity and easy cleaning. We chamber our Match Series in .223 Wylde, a hybrid chamber that the 5R rifling takes full advantage of. Better accuracy through less bullet jump, but fully and individually MPI tested for your safety. After rigorous testing, the barrels are Nitride treated inside and out, locking in the bore, improving barrel life, and keeping the elements at bay.
The extension is coated in Nickel Teflon which maintains incredible dry lubricity, corrosion resistance, and with the coating, tightens up fit between the extension and receiver – again improving upon accuracy. Combined, the Match Series of barrels are ready for when duty calls or the buzzer beeps with unrivaled performance value.

Beyond expectations
I've been wanting to build an MK-12/SPR inspired rifle. I've looked at other barrels that would be my clone correct, but I was interested in the 5R rifling. I can say that this barrel is more accurate than I am. I just got back from Zeroing my rifle. At 25 yards, with 55gr M193 ball, my best five-round group was a bit over a 1/2 inch (bottom left group). With 68gr BTHP Match, I would of had a 1/4 inch five-round group (center group) if I didn't have the one flyer (which is me). So far as performance, I couldn't ask for a better barrel. And without the optics, my rifle weighs 7.4 lbs, so not a lot of weight was added. The rifle-length gas system makes it a soft shooting rifle, especially when paired with a rifle buffer system. I put 50 rounds through it and didn't have any issues.
