Proving that every once and awhile, the Government can do something right, the Gunner’s profile from the extension to the gas block mimics that well-known taper. From there, innovation takes over and the Gunner moves to a .625 gas block journal and our famed pencil profile out front.
Removing the weight from the front of the barrel ensures maximum versatility and keeps material to the rear to maximize heat resistance and mitigate whip.
Faxon Firearms barrels are the pinnacle of value. Manufactured 100% in-house from cradle-to-grave, these barrels are fully stress relieved, air-gauge tested, and 11-degree target crowned to ensure superior accuracy.
Quality is imbued into our barrels from the start. We start with the best materials, either certified 4150 Mil-Spec steel or 416-R Stainless. From there, each barrel goes through a battery of tests at each operation until finished in Nitride and final inspected. All barrels are individually checked for headspace by precision custom hardened gauges.

United StatesNice barrel for M16A1 build.
I ordered this barrel because of the .625 gas block area and rifle length. It ended up being used to build an M16a1 parts kit. I think it looks right while having a bit more meat under the handguard. Its light without being a full pencil. The assembled rifle points well and is light and handy.

If you're putting together an AR and care about weight and accuracy get a Faxon Barrel in Gunner profile. You'll get your sub-MOA groups with the added bonus of having a fairly lightweight barrel ( who says you need a heavy barrel for sub-MOA). The Gunner profile goes to a .625 at your gas port. Read the reviews do your own research and make an informed decision. I've been building AR-15s for 35 years and as long as they continue to have me as a dealer I will continue to put their barrels on every one of my builds.

My 5th faxon barrel
Typical to faxon barrels, the finish inside the barrel doesn’t appear very smooth at first but usually works itself smooth. Headspace was good and gas block journal was exact. Throat gauge gives me same reading as my expensive barrels do.
