Proving that every once and awhile, the Government can do something right, the Gunner’s profile from the extension to the gas block mimics that well-known taper. From there, innovation takes over and the Gunner moves to a .625 gas block journal and our famed pencil profile out front.
Removing the weight from the front of the barrel ensures maximum versatility and keeps material to the rear to maximize heat resistance and mitigate whip.

Quality is imbued into our barrels from the start. We start with the best materials, either certified 4150 Mil-Spec steel or 416-R Stainless. From there, each barrel goes through a battery of tests at each operation until finished in Nitride and final inspected. All barrels are individually checked for headspace by precision custom hardened gauges.

Exceeded accuracy expectations
Very well balanced barrel and at least my sample is slightly out shooting an equivalent criterion core barrel tested with various ammo types. Would definitely consider this an MOA accurate barrel. Bore scoping shows good machining and attention to detail. I'll definitely be interested in more Gunner series barrels

My third Gunner barrel, 16 mid, 18 rifle(308) now 14.5 mid, really like the Gunner series, running an A5 H2 Cobalt Kinetics buffer system(BEST) with 14.5 mid gas and the Gunner barrels are slightly over gassed, .0795 gas port on mine, Perfect, cycles 55-62-70 brass, Tula .223 and 77gr subs

You can really feel the difference of the thinner profile out toward the muzzle. 14.5" with a midlength gas system is the perfect combination for smoother cycling and avoiding NFA restrictions with a pinned & welded muzzle. The finish looks great. The only thing that might make this barrel better is if it was chambered for .223 Wylde, but I might not even be a good enough shooter to notice the difference.

The fit and finish of this barrel is great. No problems with installation or function. Faxon makes high quality parts without the high price tag that other brands have where you are only paying for a name. They are made in house with a lifetime guarantee. I prefer the weight savings of the gunner profile vs the unnecessary thickness at the end of the barrel of a gov profile barrel. I will be buying more Faxon products in the future.
