Aero Precision AR-15 MOD 4 M-LOK Handguard
The Aero Precision Minimal Optical Deflection (MOD) 4 handguard seamlessly blends robust construction with an ergonomic form factor, ensuring no compromises between the two. Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, the handguard is engineered with a focus on stiffness to drastically reduce deflection under load. It attaches to the upper receiver via a steel barrel nut, which also serves to significantly reduce point-of-impact shift when using an infrared laser aiming device under load.
In addition to its premium engineering, the MOD 4 handguard offers several quality-of-life improvements. A full-length, 7-sided M-LOK™ interface allows the user to customize their build according to their preferences. The steel-reinforced QD sockets are a small but important detail, enhancing the sheer strength of the sockets and ensuring they do not wear prematurely when interfaced with standard steel QD sling attachments. Installation of this handguard is simplified at the barrel nut, as the need for timing has been eliminated, and the barrel nut lug pattern matches mil-spec castle nuts, removing the need for specialty tools. Finally, the inclusion of two anti-rotation set screws adds redundancy and ensures a more tailored fit when the handguard is used with third-party upper receivers.

Aero Mod4: A sturdy, thin/easy to grip, nice quality rail.
This is a really nice rail. Looks great and the attachment system is like a BCM/Geissele hybrid with the clamp bolts on top and also has anti rotation bolts. The barrel nut is long like a geissele but it’s steel vs aluminum. The rail itself fits the barrel nut on the looser side, quite loose actually, not thermal fit like BCM mcmr or the super tight but non-thermal fit like cross machine tool rails (tolerance is so tight with CMT but no torch needed, my favorite in terms of tolerance and installation ease) but still seems like sufficient lock up when torqued to 55 inlbs due to the long barrel nut. Would like to see this tolerance tightened up though tbh, i know aero is capable of this just copy the CMT :) They have a wide range of lengths which is nice so even the 12.5 and 13.7/9 barrel guys can find a full rail. Only 1 thing is missing, no Aero logo or branding. Rail looks a little bland without it but some people might prefer a ***** look. There is a tiny non colored-in aero “A” on the underside but it’s unnoticeable in normal use. I wouldn’t mind a nice white aero logo somewhere on the side of the rail. Wish they made a high dpms version for their m5. I have DD RIS III, Aero enhanced, BCM mcmr, Midwest combat, cmt uhpr and geiselle mk14 rails and I don’t really feel like I bought an inferior rail with the mod4. I would definitely buy another one of these rails for an ar15 build. Seen these go on sale a few times for insanely cheap during holidays too.

The handguard and barrel nut are both robust and solid. The reinforced QD points are nice. Installation was a breeze. Definitely a very good offering from Aero.
