Only 4 left in stock
The Vortex Spitfire HD Gen II 3x Prism Scope has been redesigned from the ground up with a brand new optical system that improves clarity while cutting down on size and weight. This compact prism scope features a fixed 3x magnification perfect for close to medium range shooting and is enhanced by the AR-BDC4 reticle tuned to 5.56 with holdovers out to 650 yards. The etched reticle is visible even when the illumination is turned off and eliminates any starburst or streaking patterns that can happen in traditional red dots if you have astigmatism. Considerable improvement over original Spitfire 3x
Glass is better, factory mount is about perfect height so if you change to an aftermarket mount it will sit about 1/3 co-witness height. Not really a problem just be aware. at 3x, is usable with both eyes open yet not quite as fast as a true red dot. Main reason for purchase is astigmatism which it does solve quite nicely. The reason you should purchase is the size and weight...... PERFECT for a lightweight rifle/carbine. Gives you the ability to ID your target at range.Low light performance is good too! Illumination is not daylight bright but completely usable in bright light and visible if engaging in shadows. Some complain about eye relief but I shoot nose to the charging handle so it's perfect for me even with the rear BUIS still in place. (folded) I do find that a folding front is more preferable so you don't get that pesky shadow. Been raining so have not fielded it yet but I did laser bore sight and was 2-3 clicks to bring it in. Will zero at 50/200 yds. as recommended in manual. Overall, exceptional optic that exceeds previous version's capability in a smaller package. I bought the 5x too which really reaches out there with crystal clear glass!
