Failed during CCW qualifying !!
First off AR15 Discounts was great as always as I received my package earlier than expected. This allowed me to remove my Vortex Defender-CCW micro red dot that never had any problems and install the new CCW Defender enclosed emitter. I got to the rage early to zero optic before qualifying it took 10 rounds but noticed the dot was flickering I tightened the battery cap, removed and replaced the battery just to be safe. Once qualifying started I was 8 rounds in the dot flickered and went out if I tapped the optic the dot would blink momentarily. The instructor was getting irritated with my actions on the lane and told me sorry, but you will not be able to use this weapon to qualify. I know the gunsmith at the range and had him remove the enclosed defender and install the old open emitter so I could qualify with it. Very disappointed with this optic and I am a big fan of Vortex rifle optics. Once I got home it started to work again but I cannot trust it on a carry gun.

Thanks for sharing such a detailed review. I’m really sorry the optic gave you trouble, especially during your qualification. We haven’t received the return just yet, but once it arrives we’ll process the return and refund right away. Once the optic arrives, we'll have our team give it a once over and reach out to Vortex directly about the product. -JH
