Sons of Liberty Gun Works Quick Ambi Safety Selector
The Quick and FCD’s ASF is a joint project between SOLGW and FCD The two companies have been collaborating on a few projects, starting with the 4140 steel MLOK sling mount (MSQ-H). Work began in Dec. 2018 to create a safety that’s an embodiment of our not inconsiderable experience in AR15/M16 selector design and knowledge over the years.
ASF was designed from the ground up to be a defense/duty/combat safety selector, its mission is quite aptly reflected by the way its levers are attached the center, via a stainless steel roll pin.  The lever to center interface is incredibly strong, the high shear strength (800 lbs) 420 stainless steel spring steel roll pin simply holds the two in place, and doesn’t handle any load.  One of the design goals dictates there be no wobble between the lever and center, we’ve called for very tight tolerances (+0.001/-0.00) on Quick’s lever and center interface to achieve that.
ASF is shipped with a selector spring, a nitrided selector detent, two levers, 3 roll pins (two are needed for installation, with 1 spare).
We do not ship the Quick with one lever installed as we recommend installing the center )dimple forward) and installing the grip, allowing the detent to hold the center in place. Using a vice block to then hold the lower as both levers are installed.
ASF centers are billet machined in 4140, heat treated and black nitrided. Levers are billet machined in 4140 and black nitrided.

The good stuff
SOLGW makes some great stuff. I will say if you're on the fence about this v. FCD, there is a slight finish difference. FCD is more shiny while this is more matte, but the fit and finish are the same 99%, I bought this and then a standard q lever from FCD direct since these are just at the right angle at 50 degrees to not get in the way for ambi at full length. Short throw is fine, but standard 50 degree q's are where the money is at.

This Q-shaped safety selector version is nice and crisp with good detent, short throw, and - best of all - no screws to work loose. The roll pins aren't moving once they're in. Just make sure you order the correct one. I had to double check to make sure I was getting the left-handed one.

It has a really nice feel. I dig the over all looks and fee of the offset levers. The spring pins are easy to drive in. The tolerances are spot on too. Just be sure you order the right one. The RH long/short has the long lever on the left hand side. The LH long/short has the long lever on the mag release side. I do like the way the fcd version is worded. Has nothing to do with the greatness of the safety but I figured I’d mention it. I bought the wrong one the first time. Ordering from here is always a smooth fast shipping transaction

Excellent safety. Smooth and no screws. Easy to use. Tried one. Liked it so much I purchased two more for my other lowers. One Spikes Tactical forged milspec and one Aero Precision forged. Third lower was a Wilson Combat billet. All installed easy.
