The San Tan Tactical STT-15 Pillar Billet stripped receiver was designed from the ground up to be truly ambidextrous without making any compromises. Machined out of a solid block of 7075-T6 aluminum on state-of-the-art CNC machinery. This allows for a greater degree of precision for extremely tight tolerances and additional features like lightening cuts to reduce weight and an enlarged magazine well and trigger guard. Whether you are right or left handed or the situation requires you to shoot with your off-hand, a rifle built on this receiver set won’t hold you back. Machined right into the lower receiver are bolt and magazine release buttons on each side giving you better control over your rifle without needing to add aftermarket parts. The lower receiver comes with both magazine and bolt releases assembled but a lower parts kit is required to finish it. Compatible with all Mil-Spec components like a trigger with .154” pin diameters and ambidextrous safety selectors. Additional features of this AR-15 billet lower receiver is built in quick detach sling swivel slots on both sides and a receiver tension screw that can be accessed through the bottom near the pistol grip.

Great lower but not for SHTF
I think this is a great lower from a great mom and pop style shop in San Antonio. The lower is well thought out, integrated QD that is great in case you use it for a piston system w/out buffer tube. The mag/bolt releases have a great texture and protrude out from the receiver (more than milspec) that gives an easy to locate and then has a firm tactile click/release. However, something to note, because the left side mag release does come down an inch to be more accessible, it does makes a potential snag point to catch on gear. San Tan is not your corporate LGS shop but the smaller shop where people answer the phone, call back promptly, and care about their customers. I don’t think I ever called and someone didn’t answer. It’s the authentic, middle class owners working 24/7, heart in their business shop that I love and I try to support. Similar to AR15discounts (but slightly smaller), I highly recommend that others do too even if it may cost you a couple more bucks in the short term. Half, 50%!, of small/medium sized family owned businesses got wiped out during covid while big corporations took the govt handouts and still stayed open. Here’s to rooting for the little guys that don’t get handouts and help!
