Purebred – 20″ .223 Wylde Barrel: This Rosco 20″ .223 Wylde Barrel was made to give the precision carbine shooter the best possible option for extended range shooting within this chambering option. Whether you are trying to make a longer version of the MK12 platform or re-barrel your 20″ carbine for DCM/ National Matches our barrel will deliver optimal extended range performance time after time.
Rosco Manufacturing’s “Purebred” series is a testament to precision and quality manufacturing. We took a step back to see how we could create a barrel line that would be a culmination of all the lessons learned through years of making barrels for several OEM’s. The result is a barrel that will produce results out of the box for any shooter that is looking to take their skills above and beyond. All of our Purebred barrels are made from scratch in our Rhode Island facility and start life as a blank piece of 416R stainless steel.
Aside from making our own barrel blanks, and barrel extensions, we also hold ourselves to the most stringent quality standards. This is the only way that we can make sure that we are producing a product that will perform time after time under the demanding of situations. We are setting out to re-define the rules and we plan on letting our work do the talking

Looks High Quality to me.
MUCH nicer than lower end priced barrels. Fit perfectly in my Areo upper. Great quality fit and finish. Feed ramps and extension are flawless. Love the profile. Very lightweight for a 20” barrel. Packaging was top notch and fast delivery. Have yet to take it to the range, but I am expecting good accuracy results.

Got a bad example?
I have had 2 prior Rosco barrels. Both of which were top notch. But my most recent 20" Purebred had major machining flaws in the Lands. and other machining issues down the bore. I would hope this was a bad example that slipped past QC before shipping out. Maybe the first run after twist rate change in tooling to 1:7? Was not happy with this particular barrel.
