Accuracy not so great
Almost all 30-30 lever action rifles have a 1-10 twist barrel which is by design to stabilize 150gr to 170gr bullets in common use for the 30-30. These 125gr Managed Recoil 30-30 loads produced much larger group sizes when compared to groups using 150gr and 170gr ammunition in 1-10" twists because this 125gr Managed Recoil loading needs at least a 1-12" twist barrel to stabilize correctly for better accuracy. This information came directly from Remington Customer care so do not expect your average 1.5" to 2.5" groups you receive with the heavier bullets but more in the range of 3.0" to 4.0" with the 125gr at 100yds. While most would never have a shot opportunity past 100yds and would consider a 3.0"to 4.0" group acceptable for woods hunting of Deer I always wish to have the the best information possible when selecting my deer hunting loads. If your wondering my best group using a lock in gun rest (Zero Human Contact with the gun) with remote trigger trip was 3.02" at 100yds out of five different Lever and Bolt action rifles made by Savage/Stevens (Bolt), Winchester (Lever), Marlin (Lever) and Thompson Center (Single Shot)
