Fantastic Barrel!
Like many folks are doing these days, I bought this barrel as the cornerstone piece to begin building a new Daniel Defense 6mm ARC AR-15 rifle. The build came out absolutely beautifully, and most importantly, the firearm cycles flawlessly. Zero malfunctions or failures so far (280 rounds fired so far. The Proof 18in carbon fiber barrel is truly a top-tier barrel and the weight is incredibly light on the fully built rifle. The Rifle+1 gas tube that came with the barrel worked perfectly with my Superlative adjustable gas block. So, no modifications were needed to make it work in my DD AR-15. The gas tube is a traditional "curved" gas tube (not a straight tube). Just in case anyone wanted to mate this up with a Riflespeed gas block. That won't be an option unless you swap the tube out for a straight tube. In terms of grouping my shots, the barrel far exceeded my expectations (sub 1.0 MOA at 100yrds with ease). I couldn't be happier with it. Now for a quick word of *caution/warning* to anyone looking to purchase this barrel. Because this company designs there barrels with the tightest tolerances in mind, getting the barrel to fit into my DD A4 upper was EXTREMELY difficult to do. I tried a few different methods of freezing and heating, and in the end I got it, but it took 2 guys to make the barrel fit. It's an incredibly tight squeeze, in other words. This is a good thing, but not so good if you are the one installing the barrel. Hahaha. Anyway, I highly recommend this barrel to anyone looking for a top-tier precision barrel, and also wants to save at least 1.0lbs of weight on their build.
