The GLx Riser Mount has arrived! Precision machined from lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum, this GLx mount has been optimized for use on the AR platform. The cantilevered design pushes your microdot forward slightly to provide that extra space should you wish to use a magnifier as a force multiplier behind your red dot sight. With a pair of solid steel cross bolts that both clamp to the top rail and function as recoil lugs, as well as integral recoil lug machined into the base, even the heaviest recoil is no match. An included .125” spacer even allows you to choose the optimal height for your red dot! Backed by our lifetime warranty, the GLx Riser Mount is the perfect fit for your favorite optics with industry standard mount interfaces.

My experience with these products has been very positive. I have two rifles that I take out to the desert, or to rifle classes. I want to use equipment that is high-quality but won’t break the bank when I knock it around, a little bit. I thought The Primary Arms GLx Lower 1/3 Cowitness Micro Dot Riser w/ .125" Spacer - PA-GLX-RM-L13-S looked interesting. It actually puts a red dot sight where it is comfortable, for me. I’ve added some pictures to try and show how open my field of view is, with this mount. So far, It has been rugged, and trouble free. Both rifles are running reliably. Both get banged around, I would say, with typical aggressiveness in training. Occasionally knocked around hard, on the ground, or on training props, when shooting under or around simulated urban obstacles, on tactical courses. It’s a low priced mount. Not cheap quality. The $49 price for the PA Optic Mount may turn some people off. But, That’s ok. Do what you want. I tried one, and then bought a second. The way it locks onto a picatinny rail does not take a lot of torque, and locks onto the receiver very securely. I’m not saying that this thing can never be damaged. Anything can break. But Ive used this mount aggressively with No breakages. No loose fittings or bolts. No bent risers. No stripped threads. The Primary arms mount works, so I haven’t felt the need to get something else.
USCross bolts will shear off and won't hold
Specifically the nuts that hold the cross bolts in place will shear off at anywhere near the recommended torque spec. The bolts then spin freely and are only held in place by a minute amount of threads left of the nuts. This is the second set of mounts after returning and receiving replacements from PA for the same issue. I really wanted to like these because they look nice, but you get what you pay for.
