For what we call jump shooting
We wade into thickets and shoot feral pigs as they run out. The action is fast and furious. This scope is my favorite for this job. My Marlin 45/70 & AR 350 legend both wear one of these. No dogs are harmed in this endeavor, just pigs.
USDecent basic scope. I used mine on a 10/22
I picked up this Classic Series 1-6x for an 18.5" 10/22. I wanted to get some magnification to be able to get better precision groups, but I wanted a plinker optic without too much reticle in the way for 1x, and didn't want to start with a 2x or 3x as the lowest value. I also didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on a scope that only gets used once or twice every few months, and want the option to put it on a non 22LR project - something a dedicated rimfire scope might not do. The 1x does have a little bit of fisheye, but for a 10/22 I'm not clearing rooms with it, just having fun at the range. It doesn't really have ranging like other scopes, but there is a basic method to using the distance to the non tapered portion of the cross hair as a reference point. For my needs, I'll just estimate windage and elevation. I have many Primary Arms optics and scopes and enjoy each one of them enough to buy without hesitation. This was priced lower than I've seen, so it was an easy decision for my plinker that needed a scope. The fish eye is unfortunate, and why the 4 stars, so if that's a deal breaker for you, they do have a Nova Fiber Wire series that is similar to this scope with better 1x and has ranging built into the reticle. I have that on my .357 lever gun and the 1x is red dot clear in terms of fisheye distortion on the edges.
