NBS 16″ Billet Slick Side 5.56 Parkerized Mid-Length 1:7 M-LOK Complete Upper
This is the first upper in our line of NBS (No Bullshit) Upper Assemblies. We wanted to build an affordable upper assembly without cutting corners. This means using a nitrided steel gas block from an American Manufacturer as opposed to aluminum, quality American Made handguards and using a proven M16 profile Black Nitride BCG paired with an NBS 16″ Mid-Length Parkerized Barrel.
This also means taking the time to ensure that the upper will function reliably. We dimple every barrel and check for excessive leaks in the gas system using compressed air. We use Permatex 242 on key components while using mil-spec AEROSHELL 33MS Anti-Seize grease on the barrel nut and muzzle device.

First Time Build, First Time Success
I am pretty new to the AR platform, though I have been shooting pistols and bolt actions for a while. Well, the stars finally aligned and I was finally able to afford to get into it. I didn't just want something off the shelf, I wanted to learn as much as conceivably possible, and everyone else has PSA or something similar. So I started diving into research and comparing specs. It also helped that it was Labor Day so lots of sales going on. I stumbled across this NBS 16" Billet Slick Side 5.56 complete upper and after much wavering, comparing, and jumping from site to site, decided to pull the trigger. I ordered an Aero Precision stripped lower and a Black Rifle Depot upgraded lower parts kit. I really, really had a wonderful time building this rifle and I am absolutely THRILLED with the finished product. I decided to upgrade the grip, put in an improved Strike Industries charging handle, BCM Kag, and an inexpensive flashlight - the fit and finish are perfect. It looks like everything was made for each other, came together cohesively and beautifully. Next I slapped on a red dot and headed to the range. Barely took 5 mins to get sighted in. Before I knew it, I was popping off rounds and nailing bullseyes with consistent accuracy. I could have cried I was so happy. I literally had 3 other shooters looking in on my booth, asking about my rifle, and celebrating perfect shots - 2 of them were veterans. I had all of the fun that day. The nickel-boron BCG was just as shiny and crisp after shooting, barely had to clean a thing. Never jammed once. Never had a hiccup. Everything felt so smooth. I cannot find a SINGLE thing to complain or gripe about, but I'm also an enthusiastic newbie, so... If you're just getting into the AR platform, just starting builds, or just want to try something new at a fantastic price point, I couldn't recommend this upper receiver enough. It really, seriously is "No Bull$#!t"
AR-15 upper
It was easy checkout took a normal time to be delivered attached to my lower very easily.. cycled several rounds through it but still have not fired around through it. Hope everything works good when I do.
I searched high and low,
I searched high and low, researched, looked and and looked more. I had narrowed it down to two uppers from another manufacturer. Then I saw this one. I compared what I got for the price and there was no question. This was the clear winner. This upper is clean, smooth functioning, and fits my lower like a glove. I am very glad I didn't pull the trigger on a different one. The nicer BCG, charging handle, and Bear Creek barrel sold me on it. Having it here, and on a lower, I know I made the right choice. The customer service was great. (I had a warranty question that was answered in an email in minutes...not automated, there was a dude on the other end at midnight my time). The shipping was great too. Ordered on Wednesday morning, the mailman handed it to me Friday morning. Cant go wrong here. I recommend it 100%.
