Carbine HBAR Barrel
This is a nice barrel. I purchased an HBAR because it was a 1:9 twist, and I don't mind the extra bit of weight. It isn't too noticeable from a standard 16" carbine barrel, unless you're going to hang stuff all over the rifle. NBS quality, is again, quite nice. The nitriding is exceptionally good and tough, as I've drilled dimples on the barrel, and it wasn't an easy finish to get through even with my decent drill bits. Haven't fired it yet, however, I'm not expecting anything less than great. I have purchased and run a 20" NBS govt profile barrel, and I've been quite happy with that. Clean the barrel thoroughly before installing, as it does still have machining fluid residue on it, as just about any barrel will. It's basically a SOCOM profile without the extra cost. Yes, HBAR is not SOCOM, but it's close enough.
