The NBS 16″ 6.5 Grendel M-LOK Upper Assembly is a great option for those looking to go long range with the AR-15 platform. The 6.5 Grendel has been around for a long time and has been hailed by many as the best long range cartridge for small platform ARs. To start, this upper is built on an 7075-T6 upper receiver which provides a solid foundation for the 16″ QPQ Nitride 6.5 Grendel Barrel. The barrel also features 1:8 twist 5R rifling which is an enhanced rifling technique that essentially smooths the transitions between the lands and grooves of the rifling. The result is reduced bullet deformation which improves the flight and accuracy of the projectile.

As always we’re using solid components, like a QPQ Nitride gas block and a stainless steel gas tube, finished off with a Jet Black A2 style muzzle device. The finish on this A2 is much better than the parkerizing of most other A2s and looks outstanding paired with the QPQ Nitride Barrel. We also assemble each upper according to strict standards. This includes dimpling the barrel, using semi-permanent thread locker on the proper components and anti-seize grease on the properly torqued barrel nut and muzzle device.
