Kaw Valley Precision Linear Comps are part of a small family of compensators aimed at taming muzzle concussion. The KVP linear comp, collects and redirects muzzle gases away from the shooter. This redirection helps reduce the perceived decibels the shooter experiences at his or her ear. By pushing excessive noise and concussion downrange, not only will the shooter experience a much softer shooting experience, bystanders will also benefit from the redirection of the muzzle gasses. Better than expected!
I put this compensator on my AR9, not really knowing what to expect. I immediately noticed the muzzle blast was directed forward, away from the shooter. I shot feral hogs at night and recorded it with my Pulsar thermal scope. It was interesting to say the least! In the video you see the muzzle flash from the shot, and then you don't hear the report of the round for about a half a second or so. It literally directs the sound forward, and it takes time to come back towards the shooter and be picked up by the scope's microphone. Amazing!
