Modification of your firearm is required. To ensure proper operation, a qualified gunsmith is recommended for installation.
Tools needed to complete installation include:
• Clamp
• Power Drill
• 5/64″ Allen Wrench
• 8-32 Tap
• Aluminum Cutting Fluid (such as WD-40)
• Standard Mil-Spec Mag Catch, Spring and Button
When installed properly in your firearm, the Freedom Fighter blocks the magazine release until the rear pin is removed and the upper receiver is lifted upward and away from the lower receiver.
All necessary parts and instructions are included for three installations. The Freedom Fighter jig can be reused many times.

If you live in California, this kit is the absolute best way to have a normal looking AR while still being in *sigh* compliance….. You can also modify the kit (google it) to allow for your bolt to stay back when the receive is split if you are using something like the ARMaglock King pin (highly recommended with this kit). This will let you clear any malfunctions, keep your bolt catch and keep your normal magazine release. If you are worried about drilling into your receiver then get something else. If you don’t mind taking 15 minutes to perform a mod even a child with steady hands could do, get this now. No one wants to see your fin grips, they”ll laugh at you.
USNice upgrade for CA
I have minimal experience with firearms but I took a chance on this. After reading the instructions and watching a couple youtube videos, I tried it out on my Anderson receiver and it functions perfectly. It was not as difficult as I thought it might be and it worked the first time. I was using a juggernaut hellfighter ca mod kit for a magazine lock, but you lose the bolt catch functionality when you use that system. You cannot tell that this is installed by looking at the gun. With this hogue kit I am still using the hellfighter pin but I now have a fully functioning bolt catch and there are less modifications on the outward appearance of the rifle.
