Forward Controls Design URF-F AR-15 Forged Stripped Upper Receiver - URF-F
Out of stock
We think the standard A3 upper receiver is pretty good, and hard to improve on (cosmetics don’t count).
For URF-F (Upper Receiver, FCD, Forged), there is but a single functional change we wanted which differs from the TDP spec forged upper receiver. Specifically,  URF-F has relief cuts/chamfers on the area above the charging handle (before 1913 rails start) for better accessibility of a flip up BUIS’s sight stalk / flip up element.
URF-F is based on TDP spec forged upper receiver, it’s made and modified for Forward Controls by Centurion Arms. Type 3 hard coated in black (FDE to follow). Like TDP spec A3 upper receivers, URF-F can accommodate a forward assist, but does not come installed with one.
URF-F can be ordered with or without a factory ejection port cover, or our EPC (billet, 7075 aluminum).

Looks good but fit could be better
I used one of these in the past and it seemed like it was fine at the time but I just assembled another upper with one last night and I found myself wishing i just got a BCM upper. When fitting a barrel to a receiver you want a tight fit. Some brands like BCM, Noveske, and Hodge require heat to be applied to the receiver so you can install the barrel but not this upper, the barrel slides right in loosely which is nice but at the time that tight fit helps with overall accuracy. I'm hoping this looser fit doesn't affect accuracy too much, and yes of course everything has been torqued properly. I installed this onto an M4E1 lower and the lockup between the upper and lower isn't too great either, the upper can wobble a little bit so I'll likely need an accu-wedge or I'll have to get the nylon tension set screw from aero which does the same thing. Spend the extra ~$40 and get the BCM, you're likely going to be spending that on the dust cover and forward assist anyways, might as well get an assembled upper with solid lockup.
