Proving that every once and awhile, the Government can do something right, the Gunner’s profile from the extension to the gas block mimics that well-known taper. From there, innovation takes over and the Gunner moves to a .625 gas block journal and our famed pencil profile out front.
Removing the weight from the front of the barrel ensures maximum versatility and keeps material to the rear to maximize heat resistance and mitigate whip.
Faxon’s MATCH SERIES of barrels takes our renowned performance and value up a notch.
Manufactured 100% in-house from gun-barrel-quality bar-stock, the Match Series starts with 416-R in 5R rifling. 5R is a hybrid rifling, with lands opposite grooves and reduced sharp angles that reduces jacket deformation increasing velocity and easy cleaning. We chamber our Match Series in .223 Wylde, a hybrid chamber that the 5R rifling takes full advantage of. Better accuracy through less bullet jump, but fully and individually MPI tested for your safety. After rigorous testing, the barrels are Nitride treated inside and out, locking in the bore, improving barrel life, and keeping the elements at bay.
The extension is coated in Nickel Teflon which maintains incredible dry lubricity, corrosion resistance, and with the coating, tightens up fit between the extension and receiver – again improving upon accuracy. Combined, the Match Series of barrels are ready for when duty calls or the buzzer beeps with unrivaled performance value.

Faxon Match grade
This barrel fit tight in installation, and looks great. I zeroed with m855, shoots 2moa. I switched to 60gr SMK reloads, with a 1" poi shift, 1.5moa. I was expecting a little better accuracy with reloads, but will try 65gr SGK next range day. No malfunctions, gassed pretty good, throws brass back at 3:30 to 4:00 on rifle buffer.

Fantastic Faxon Quality
The 18" Gunner .223 Wylde barrel is a top of line barrel. I've had nothing but 1 MOA and less with this barrel, and so far have put 200 rounds through it without problems.
