The Gunner profile is a blend of two of the best performing profiles of all time, Gov’t and Pencil.
Proving that every once and awhile, the Government can do something right, the Gunner’s profile from the extension to the gas block mimics that well-known taper. From there, innovation takes over and the Gunner moves to a .625 gas block journal and our famed pencil profile out front.
Removing the weight from the front of the barrel ensures maximum versatility and keeps material to the rear to maximize heat resistance and mitigate whip.

Manufactured 100% in-house from gun-barrel-quality bar-stock, the Match Series starts with 416-R in 5R rifling. 5R is a hybrid rifling, with lands opposite grooves and reduced sharp angles that reduces jacket deformation increasing velocity and easy cleaning. We chamber our Match Series in .223 Wylde, a hybrid chamber that the 5R rifling takes full advantage of. Better accuracy through less bullet jump, but fully and individually MPI tested for your safety. After rigorous testing, the barrels are Nitride treated inside and out, locking in the bore, improving barrel life, and keeping the elements at bay.
The extension is coated in Nickel Teflon which maintains incredible dry lubricity, corrosion resistance, and with the coating, tightens up fit between the extension and receiver – again improving upon accuracy. Combined, the Match Series of barrels are ready for when duty calls or the buzzer beeps with unrivaled performance value.

Tight!
This barrel shank seems to be cut slightly large. It wouldn't fit in the reciever until I stuck it in the freezer for 20 minutes. This is a great thing! It helps prevents poi shift when the barrel heated up. I wish all accurate barrels were like this.
USGreat Barrel !
This worked great for my lightweight build. Intended for closer range defense. Im using a Holosun with a magnifier and it’s only been sighted in at 50yards and this Faxon barrel is very accurate. This profile of barrel put my AR @ 4.65lbs w/o optics. I wouldn’t use this in “three gun” competition, but it wasn’t intended for that. I like it!

Good quality barrel and at a good price
USFaxon Match Series Gunner 16" barrel 223 Wylde
I was looking for a light weight, accurate barrel and this Faxon Gunner is it. Installation was easy with the Faxon gas block and in a very short time I test fired the gun. I tested a new load at the same time and it held a sub minute group. Actially 3 shots within a 3/4 inch group at 130 yards. I am well pleased with this barrel.
