Our pencil barrels are the lightest in the industry. Don’t take just our word for it, major companies like Robar, 2A Armament, and others choose Faxon pencils for their ideal balance of weight and performance.
Faxon Firearms barrels are the pinnacle of value. Manufactured 100% in-house from cradle-to-grave, these barrels are fully stress relieved, air-gauge tested, and 11 degree target crowned to ensure superior accuracy.
Quality is imbued into our barrels from the start. We start with the best materials, either certified 4150 Mil-Spec steel or 416-R Stainless. From there, each barrel goes through a battery of tests at each operation until finished in Nitride and final inspected. All barrels are individually checked for headspace by precision custom hardened gauges.

Surprised
Once I opened the box I was surprised how light and thin this barrel is. Thinner than the pencil barrel I replaced it with. Have not shot it yet or completed the build. Excited about this light weight build and don’t plan on getting the barrel that hot ever.
Very nice!
I am very happy with the craftsmanship, look, and reviews of this barrel. Also, if you look closely it actually has tinny ridges on the surface which should help with heat dissipation and point-of-aim shifts when the barrel heats up. I can't wait to put her on my next build and try her out!
Pencil Barrel
Barrel looks good. The gas block journal is only 1.1” long, so my gunsmith is making a shim for my front site. For a pistol, this would make a nice lightweight shooter. For me, it’s the next step in building my XM-177 clone. Keep in mind that lightweight barrels heat up awfully fast, so this isn’t meant for any protracted engagements.
