Don’t know much about history
I don’t know. It could have been accurate. Never shot it. It had perpendicular grooves to the rifling lands so, I sent it back because I have never seen such a thing. All the rifling peeping I have done through the years revealed smooth shiny land. Could be a new technique??
United Statesdimensions off from OEM
This barrel was purchased for a G17 gen 5. The un-threaded length of this barrel is about .100" longer than the unthreaded OEM barrel. I have no problem with this as longer generally means more accurate, then add the 1/2" of threaded length and get a bigger accuracy bonus yet. Unfortunately, the outer diameter of this barrel is .011" smaller than the OEM barrel, which means more slop in the lockup with the slide, and we all know that this lockup determines accuracy. The steps where the spring assembly rest also present a slightly different profile than OEM. I installed the barrel and ran it through several dry operations and noticed nothing malfunctioning, but have not fired any ammo thru it yet, so I can't say if this difference will cause a problem. I'm glad I bought this barrel only as a back-up and may never even use it.
