Great tube, required miniscule modification to work with PRS LITE
In my search to find a buffer tube that works with the PRS Lite I saw this and tried it. I got the black one, it's a nice solid buffer tube. Not sure what else I can say besides there really isn't any reason to choose a more expensive tube over this. Now for anyone that has the Magpul PRS Lite and has the forward/back slop, caused by their poor design choice in using a buffer tube spec that almost no one else uses, this is for you. My tube required absolute minimal modification to make it work with absolute zero slop, it's rock solid. The tube was about 1/8th of a turn from proper orientation if you screwed it until it pushed against the detent. If you backed off you would have the slop issue. I took a dremel and a small diamond bit and took off the slightest edge where the detent would sit, maybe 1/16th or probably less of an inch, to get that 1/8th of a turn. Took me maybe 30s tops, it took more time to get the bit tightened in the chuck. You could easily use a small round file and do it in 2-3 strokes. The X cage that needed to go through would hit the extension ramp by the slightest amount, but I rotated the cage and 1 prong had enough tolerance to clear the ramp for the perfect fit. If yours doesn't clear you might need a little dremeling/filing there. I'm super happy with the results. The only other buffer tubes that are supposed good fits for the PRS Lite are easily double the price and it's not like they do the whole buffer tube job better. Also worth mentioning that AR15Discounts customer support is great. I inquired about the specs of this tube and they got back to me quickly and put me in touch with techs. Magpul on the other hand ignored me after telling me to get a "mil spec" tube. They never suggested a brand or anything, of course I did that and it didn't work. I spent 3 months trying to get them to respond and even contacted the BBB, nothing. AR15Discounds actually cares about their customers so I can rest assured that their warranty means something, unlike Magpuls "100% satisfaction Guaranteed" that is meaningless because they won't respond.
