Shoots lights out!
Bought this to help a friend who had blown up an AR. Had to cut the upper receiver in half to get it apart. Although the barrel looked fine and passed headspace check I decided to order this one for him. More than pleasantly surprised! For 89 bucks I don’t think you can go wrong. I did thoroughly clean it and was a bit concerned that I actually got a slight amount of rust on the first few patches when cleaning but it did clean up nicely and it flat shoots. Tried three different loads in it, 55 grain, 69 grain and 75 grain and they all shot well. I would not hesitate to order another one.
USGood accuracy for the price
I shot three random number shot groups at this target off of the back of an ammo can at 100 yards with iron sights. The upper was not sighted in. This was with inexpensive Xtac ammo(green tip). I’m no marksman, and this barrel was not purchased with the intentions of being a really accurate gun, but it is. The .093 gas port is pleasing as far as recoil when paired with a rifle buffer and tube.
USWell, this barrel is costing me money
To be honest, I’ve had better luck with Bear Creek than BA barrels lately so I bought one of these hammer forged barrels to try out. It shoots PMC M193 so well that I ended up buying a 2.5-15x scope to replace the 1-6x PA that I’d originally had on it. I have my own range and can shoot to 500 yds daily. The really cool thing about the barrel I got is that it puts the first cold bore shot right in with the rest of the group. I’m impressed and will probably buy another soon to confirm whether or not I got a fluke.
USGreat Barrel
I wanted a 20" barrel and when I found this on sale plus being CHF, it was a done deal. Rather than a swap, I built a free float upper. Before install, I thoroughly cleaned and polished the inside of the barrel so that it was clean as possible for break in. Took it to my range today and ran some bulk 55 grain FMJ for getting a scope on paper and break in. There was a slight cross wind and I was using a 50 yard target. My expectations were easily met, getting very tight groups, just tinkering with less than ideal conditions. I do believe that this barrel will get 1 MOA groups with appropriate ammunition as advertised. Fit and finish were great and I was not looking for a really expensive barrel in the first place. Once I get to run some premium rounds through it, I have no doubt that I will continue to be pleased with this purchase.
