Michael Earnest – Director of E-Commerce
My name is Michael Earnest and I am the Director of E-Commerce over at AR15Discounts.com. I have got a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration & Management. I came on board back in 2018 working customer service, but I have been into firearms since I was a kid, so when the chance came to grow in the industry with AR15Discounts.com, I jumped on it.
Honestly, the best part of this job is the camaraderie with my team. Something I am really proud of is coordinating the AR15Discounts.com onboarding into the Sports Inc buy group; that was a big deal. As far as my personal go-to, it’s the AR-15 chambered in .333 ARC, no question.
If you’re new to firearms, here’s what I’d tell you: buy what you feel you need. Don’t let other people decide that for you. And always save up for a solid optic, trigger, and barrel. That’s where your money should go.
Jennifer Hernandez – Office Manager
My name is Jennifer Hernandez and I am the Office Manager at AR15Discounts.com. I have an Associates Degree in Human Services and started with the company back in 2019 in Customer Service. Before that, I had only been to the range a handful of times with my husband while he was in the Army, but this job is really what pulled me into the firearms world.
The best part about working here is hands down the people — my coworkers, managers, and the owners. We all make an effort to keep things feeling like family around here, and I think we do a pretty good job of that. As for my favorite firearm, most of my experience has been with an AR-15 since that was my first purchase, but I just picked up a 9mm and I am looking forward to getting some time in with that next. With all the different calibers, brands, setups and configurations out there, it can definitely be overwhelming when you’re brand new to firearms.
My advice to anyone just starting out is that the knowledge will come with time. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Given the nature of this industry, it’s better to be 100% right than to put the wrong information out there.
David Martinez – Operations Manager
My name is David Martinez and I am the Operations Manager at AR15Discounts.com. I started with the company in 2020 and I have always had a passion for firearms. Funny enough, I got into the industry through my wife. She happened to be the server at a restaurant one of the owners would visit pretty regularly. He mentioned he was looking to bring on more staff, my wife passed that along to me, and I went ahead and applied. I got hired as a shipping associate, worked my way into an Armory Associate role, then moved up to Armory Coordinator. From there, I just kept pushing forward and now I’m the Operations Manager.
One of my favorite things about working here is watching our team members grow and being part of that development. We have got a solid group of dedicated people who share the same passion for this industry. As far as firearms go, the AR-15 platform is my favorite — it’s incredibly modular and customizable. I’m also a big fan of bolt actions. The dream build I’m still chasing will most likely be a custom bolt gun in 6mm PRC.
For anyone new to the industry, I would say don’t rush into anything. There are a ton of options out there and it can get overwhelming fast.
