Tyrant Designs TD-SSAR NexGen 45 / 90 Degree AR-15 Ambi Safety Selector
Replace your mil-spec safety selector with the NexGen AR-15 Ambidextrous Safety selector from us, Tyrant Designs CNC! With a 45 AND 90 degree configurable throw, our Ambi safety selector offers supreme fit, function, and aesthetics. Sporting identical length levers, this short-throw safety selector is the best option for left-handed operators, too. Whether lefty, practicing support hand shooting, or just building a new AR-15 the Tyrant Ambi Safety Selector is for you.
Rubber tactile feel
In order to offer a robust tactile feel without compromising on the material, we designed our safety selector levers to be made from 6061 aluminum with a soft durometer rubber over-mold. What does that mean? You get the durability of a metal selector with the benefits of a grippy rubber texture.
Configurable throw
Want a long throw? Or a short one? What about 45 on one side, and 90 on the other? You can get it all with our AR-15 safety selector. Regardless of your needs as an operator, we are confident that you will find a configuration that suits your needs.
Ambidextrous Selection
Great for lefty’s or those who practice firing with their support hand, our selector is a truly ambidextrous safety selector. Left-handed shooters will have no issue operating their AR-15 with our equal length levers.

Safety allows over-travel
I received this safety (gold in case anyone cares). Installed it like many other safeties. Installation was fairly easy. I opted for the 45 degree throw. It did have a positive click in both safe and fire. Then I started to do my safety check. On safe, no trigger pull. On fire, hammer goes, all good so far. Then I looked at it. Safety was beyond 45 degrees (almost 90). Thinking I had it on the wrong side, I carefully checked it. Nope, 45 degree throw side. Safety just allows over travel. It's also prone to being stuck in a fire position when over rotated because as you'd expect, it's beyond it's intended limits. Looking it over more, it's significantly out on other side of the gun, assumably to not mar the finish. That wouldn't be a big deal to me if it didn't over travel. Figured it's my safety detent or spring. Replaced both. Same function. Nothing visibly wrong on the safety selector core. Installed a mil-spec safety, no issues. Used the old spring and detent, no issues. Installed Odin Ambi in 45 degree throw. No issues. At this point I'm going to see what resolutions I can work out with the company because getting stuck on fire is a no-go for me. This is a sample of one, so take it for what it is. If I get another to try out, I'll submit a review on that one.
