ODIN Works 14.5 223 Wylde Carbine Length Medium Profile Stainless Steel Barrel w/ FREE tunable GB
Out of stock
You want a barrel that is light and easy to carry during competitions, but heavy enough to keep accuracy and rigidity. The Medium Profile barrel is a great choice for this.. The ODIN Works 14.5 Medium profile barrel comes with the well-known .223 Wylde chamber, so you can feed your firearm plenty of .223 and 5.56 NATO ammo. Its built from 416R Stainless Steel, it has M4 feed ramps for reliability, a carbine length gas system, a button rifled 1:8 twist rate (1:8 twist means the bullet makes one full rotation every 8 inches while inside the barrel), 1/2×28 thread pattern to fit standard AR-15 muzzle devices, and a medium profile cut.
What is a Medium Profile barrel Generally a lightweight profile barrel is about .625 diameter in the middle, whereas the medium profile barrel is .750 diameter in the middle… giving the medium profile barrel about .125 more thickness. This hand-lapped barrel weighs in at just 1.616 pounds and includes an adjustable Stainless Steel Gas Block for tuning your AR.
At the time this was written, there were 7 online reviews with solid 5-STAR ratings, so this barrel could easily be the best choice you make for your new AR. Plus, the AR-15Discounts.com satisfaction guarantee means your purchases can be done without anxiety. Our AR-15Discounts Guarantee states that if you are not happy for any reason, you have 30 days to return it for a full refund. You can’t ask for much more than that!
NOTE: The .223 Wylde is a mix of the 5.56×45 NATO external chamber measurements and lead angle, but also utilizes the tighter .224 free bore diameter of the .223 Remington cartridge for better accuracy potential. As we all know, you could not fire 556 NATO ammo in a .223 Rem chamber due to the pressure differential and slight chamber size differences. The .223 Wylde solves this issue and gives the shooter the best of both worlds.
NOTE: 416R is a Crucible brand steel and that was formulated by Crucible specifically for barrel applications. This steel was also designed to be able to operate in arctic temperatures, down to -40F degrees. 416R has greater accuracy potential than normal 416SS and 4150 steel because it can take highly defined rifling and machining cuts, making for a more accurate barrel overall.
