Best Tool for building Uppers
My overall experience can be described as pure joy. This is the best of all the options out there as it has 3 key features: 1) it's made of good quality steel, 2) it has a sail for aligning the barrel and upper, keeping the upper from twisting under the torque applied to install the barrel, 3rd is it's remarkable quality for it's price. This tool can also be used as a gauge for checking proper barrel alignment. Never use an aluminum copy of this tool.

I've been wanting a upper receiver rod for some time (years) but I could never bring myself to bite the bullet and buy one, where I already had a upper receiver block. Boy I wish I bought one of these when I first got into building. Worth every penny. I really like that it fits nice and snug in the upper. Super solid. Nice and heavy. It just makes sense to take the strain off of the upper and transfer it to, or at least spread it across, the barrel. So far the Midwest Industries tools I have bought have all been top notch and worked flawlessly. 100% satisfied.
