Works for some things, could be beter
I got the block to help with some AR builds. It doesn't seem like it does anything really well. It does work as a vise block in the mag well. I haven't tried other manufactures blocks, so I don't have anything to compare it to. I have other mag well / vise blocks, so it's no real help there. Most things I end up doing the work on the table top.
