Lantac RPS Ratchet Plate System - 01-UP-RPS
In stock
The Lantac RPS Ratchet Plate System is a quality of life upgrade that makes a huge difference when assembling your AR-15. This end plate and castle nut features a ratcheting system that negates the need for staking. The purpose of staking is to prevent your castle nut from backing off over time but requires you to permanently deform the metal, making it difficult to remove if you ever need to. With the RPS installed, it locks your end plate and castle nut together retaining it in place until you need to take it off. Taking it off I just as easy as installing it. All you need is your castle nut wrench to loosen it. The end plate features a QD sling attachment socket. Both the castle nut and end plate are CNC machined from 4140 steel and Nitride finished.
Features:
- Mil-Spec QD Sling Point
- CNC Machined single pass threads
- Simple one piece ratchet locking plate
- Protected engagement surfaces that cannot be accidentally damaged when installed
- Aggressive Castle Nut grip pattern
- Precision machined from 4140 Steel
- QPQ Nitride finished

Out of Spec Nut - AR15Discounts Made It Right
They product is a great innovation for the MSR and it looks nice. The castle nut fit very tightly and when I threaded it onto the buffer tube it actually removed all the anodizing and some of the material. I figured this how they are, but now the buffer cannot be used with any other castle nut. I called Lantac and they confirmed there was a "batch that was out of spec" (undersized nut), so they told me to email them for an RMA--3 weeks later I have yet to receive a response. I used to think Lantac was an awesome company, but not after this. The good news, AR15Discounts stood by what they sell and issued an RMA to return it. Great job AR15Discounts, thank you. Now I need to replace the buffer tube.
