1st ambi safety, glad I bought this one
This is my first ambi safety, man am I glad I purchased this one. I tried all combinations of the parts in the regular 90 degree configuration and was not happy. The right side lever would touch my trigger finger in the fire position. I never thought that I would like anything other than a 90 degree classic safety, but I thought what the heck I'll give the 45 a go. What a difference. It doesn't interfere with my trigger finger and the manipulation of it is so much easier. I am still tinkering with color choices but think I have found the safety levers I like most. My only complaint of the company, you cant buy the safety barrel separate so I can use left over levers on other guns. Also, AR15 discounts, amazing service as usual
Good selector, need break in time.
I purchased 2 sets for 2 ar15 rifles. here are the pros and cons. Pros 1. Allow you to chose either to have 45 degree throw or 90 degree. 2. 3 different colors, and 5 different sets, so you can match the color accent of your rifle, 3. you have the choice of ambi control or single side, left or right, you can simply cover up the side you do not want to use with the included circle cover (see pics) Here are the cons: 1. You can choose to have the 45 degree throw, but be aware because different manufacture of triggers dimensions, the 45 selector will sometime cause you to be able to put the weapon on safe after firing, you should not be able to do that with mil spec firing selectors, this in turn can cause you to charge the weapon when the hammer is up, while weapon is on safe, and thus cause damage to the trigger or the selector. you need to test your "trigger" when you choose to use the 45 degree throw, otherwise stay with the 90 degree throw you should have no issues. 2. there are total of 3 different colors and 5 different selectors, but you will ever only be able to use "TWO" at any given time, because you only get one selector "bar" also the 2 selector you choose will not be matching!!! unless you use a different color of the same type. just to be clear the rest of the left over pieces (13) of them will be useless, unless you can find a place that sells only the "selector bar" piece. 3. the selector once install are very tight vs the mil spec selector, i recommend using lube or gun oil to reduce friction during the install, also require usage before it will loosen to just come closer to the mil spec selector, yes its harder and require more force to operate this selector, the dimension is off slightly, you can work it loose enough after sometime of break in period, but do not expect butter smooth experience. final conclusion, its fine if you want to change the boring mil spec selector, or just have different color to match your rifle, but do beware of the issues i brought up with this selector. i finally broke in both set of selectors i purchased, its running fine now, i give it 4 stars.
Offers lots of options
This is a pretty cool safety selector kit. It is very quality. Made in Germany I think. My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the polymer switches. They seem fine, just a mental thing for me. The main part is steel so overall should be good.
