I guess it works
I put this on a new build and I guess it works. It was easy to install, although, I had to add shims and install it multiple times to get it to line up properly. It came with plenty of shims in the instructions for installation were easy to understand. This is my first 5.56 on a 10.5” barrel, So I really can’t comment on the degree of flash suppression or compensation. It still makes a pretty good fireball, but that’s to be expected on any 5.56 with a less than 12” barrel. I felt like recoil control was pretty good and follow-up shots were easy to make. The compensator is pretty heavy. It has a lot of material for it to do what it is built to do. I don’t think it’s very attractive, but I bought it for function, not for looks. I am a little disappointed that the finish didn’t hold up. I’ve put about 100 rounds through it and the finish has cooked off quite a bit. This may be a side effect of running a blast can. I paired this compensator with a Griffin blast can, which screws onto the compensator without any problem. Overall, I think this device works as advertised and I would recommend it if it meets your needs. Again, this is the first combo flash hider/compensator I’ve had, so I don’t have anything to compare it to.
