FTA Tactical MPA Defender Forced Reset Trigger - MPA Defender Forced Reset Trigger

The Twitch BETA Forced Reset Trigger is a 4140 steel upgrade based on the open-source design originally released by ToadLicker556 for the MPA Defender MAC-10/11 platform. Designed for users who want a stronger, longer-lasting alternative to printed prototypes, this steel version improves durability where the original PLA-based test parts experienced rapid wear.

The original creator released The Twitch as a beta-stage forced reset trigger concept, noting that printed versions typically lasted only 17–51 rounds in Polymaker PLA Pro before replacement. FTA Tactical’s version addresses that weak point by producing the component from 4140 steel, giving users a far more robust option for testing, evaluation, and long-term use.

This product is ideal for builders, testers, and collectors looking for a more durable version of the open-source Twitch forced reset trigger design while supporting continued development in the MAC-platform community.

Why 4140 Steel?

The original beta release specifically mentioned that printed versions had a short service life and that a future improvement could involve using metal for the portion that interacts with the bolt. FTA Tactical’s 4140 steel version follows that concept by using a material known for its strength, toughness, and excellent wear resistance.

Compared to PLA Pro, PA-CF, or other printed materials, 4140 steel offers significantly better durability, especially in areas exposed to repeated mechanical contact.

Platform Compatibility

This component was originally designed for the MPA Defender and may fit or be adaptable to other MAC-10 / MAC-11 style firearms. Fitment may vary depending on the firearm, lower receiver, trigger geometry, and manufacturer tolerances.

Primary fitment:
MPA Defender MAC-10/11 style platforms

Possible compatibility:
Other MAC-10 / MAC-11 pattern platforms with modification or fitting

Because this design was released as a beta, some fitting or evaluation may be required. This product is intended for experienced users who understand firearm function, safety testing, and local compliance requirements.

Lifetime Warranty

FTA Tactical backs this product with a Lifetime Warranty against defects in material and workmanship.

If your 4140 steel Twitch forced reset trigger component fails due to a manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace it in accordance with our warranty policy. This warranty does not cover misuse, improper installation, illegal use, unsafe testing, unauthorized modification, or damage caused by incompatible host firearms.

Safety Notice

The original beta release included a clear warning that testing experienced out-of-battery detonations during development. While the creator noted that excessive lubrication appeared to reduce or eliminate the issue in limited testing, this remains a beta-stage design concept.

Always wear proper eye and hand protection when testing firearm components. Use only in a safe and controlled environment. FTA Tactical strongly recommends inspection by a qualified gunsmith before use.

This product is intended for lawful testing, evaluation, repair, and replacement purposes only.
