Faxon Firearms barrels are chambered to SAAMI specification .308 Winchester at a nominal headspace depth (passing Go and failing No-Go). This ensures maximum safety and accuracy.
7.62×51 NATO is not the same round as .308 Winchester, though it will fit within chamber. 7.62×51 technically requires deeper headspacing to meet the military specification and is known to function in Faxon .308 WIN barrels under most circumstances. However, due to the variation of components in the .308 AR world and variations between loadings, Faxon cannot guarantee or warrant function with 7.62×51, especially with bolts with tight (match) .308 WIN headspacing.

Incredible Barrel
This .308 barrel went into my Aero Precision M5E1-Enhanced Rifle that will run multiple calibers. I absolutely love it. Fit and finished at second to none. Broke it in and zeroed it with a Primary Arms 1-6x30 scope at 100yds and every shot went, more or less, where I wanted it to go. I'm sure the rifle and barrel are accurate. Me? Not so much. I need A LOT more range time... and now money. This barrel is so good that I'm REALLY considering the matching 6.5Creedmoor in 24". I 100% recommend this barrel for a solid AR10 "Battle Rifle". PS: The last picture shows the upgraded scope. Primary Arms SLx 3-18x50 Apollo.
USI like it so far.
I bought this barrel as one of the earlier components for a build that will be completed over time. The build will take much longer than it should. So, I can speak to the fit and finish but not performance. It looks nice and the finish is even. It fits into my Aero Precision n receiver exactly as I would expect. I am a little disappointed in the flutes. The edges are a little sharp- similar to my Ballistic Advantage barrel. I have more expensive fluted barrels where the flutes are chamfered and smoother. Overall, I am happy with it so far and looking forward to shooting it.
