Duramag 10 Round 762x39 total junk
(If I could give a no-star I would) This review if for Duramag and a design flaw, AR15 Discounts did nothing wrong. The Duramag 10-round 762x39 magazines are not the same as the excellent 20-round versions. The 10-round mags have a different top stamping design, with the front bullet push-over tabs not extended far enough into the center to align the bullets properly with the feed ramps. This causes the bullets to hit the alloy of the lower, get hung up on the feed ramp, damage the lower, and raise a lip on the barrel extension, while also slowing the BCG down and not fully chambering a round randomly, yielding random light primer strikes. I bought three of them—two here and one elsewhere—and all had this problem. I was chasing a light primer strike because of it. The 20-round Duramags worked fine, so I compared both, cycled the weapon by hand while watching through the ejection port, and confirmed the bullets in the 10-round mags weren’t centered on the feed ramps. With the 20-round mags, the bullets fed perfectly dead center on the feed ramps. Then a did visual comparison of the tops and seen the design flaw. Avoid the 10-round 762x39 Duramag magazines—they damaged my feed ramps, which I had to fix with a Dremel. Thanks, Duramag, for wrecking my gun. I contacted them but got no reply at all. So, if you're chasing light primer strikes with these magazines, now you know why.
