This Dirty Bird Industries Complete Upper features a Black Nitride 16″” Sub-MOA Government Profile barrel chambered in 5.56 with a 1:7 twist. Built on a top-tier Forged Upper Receiver and finished with Dirty Bird’s 12″ ASAL Quad Rail . No corners are cut when manufacturing these complete uppers. All barrels are dimpled and cold blued, use a black nitride 4140 steel gas block and a stainless steel gas tube. The gas block set screws feature knurled cone tops and are installed using blue locktite ensuring that no amount of firing will cause the set screws to come loose but they will still able to be removed for servicing if needed.
NEW: The Dirty Bird SMRS Handguard featured our new Rock Solid Patent Pending Anti-Slip / Anti-Lift attachment system. The clamp-on style of handguard attachment, utilized by many manufacturers is both secure and convenient but one problem has always been that clamping the handguard it tends to lift the front end of the handguard. The longer the handguard, the more drastic the effect. If you’ve ever had to bottom-out the front-sight post of a rail mounted BUIS in order to get the correct elevation, the issue is probably due to this “”lift”” phenomena.

Possibly the best option for a budget quad rail upper out there

I bought this upper during one of AR15discounts sales. Mine has over 400 rounds through it with no problems. It shoots pretty good groups at 50 and 100 yards. As the saying goes, “ the gun is more accurate than the shooter. Dity Bird Industries did an EXCELLENT job putting this together. No mistakes or flaws. The quad rail makes the upper a little on the heavy side, mist quad rails are heavier than m-lok rails. My upper came with a Ballistic Advantage barrel. The enhanced bcg works fine and shows very little wear, although I can’t tell the performance difference between the enhanced bcg vs a normal profile bcg. Hope this review helps with your decision.

Seems solid. Inspected everything and looks pretty good so far. Clean finish. The Bcg looks great..I’ve already had a Db bcg that has been running amazingly with no issues and I’m sure this upper will perform just the same. Love Ar15discounts. Will continue to keep buying.

On a 15% discount, I got this upper for $372. This upper has parts worth way more than that if bought separately, not including the very good quality control coming from Dirty Bird. For $372, I recommend this upper. If Dirty Bird can keep up this quality control, this can take down some serious competitors as the top "budget" upper. As for recommending for home defense, I cannot say... As I have only about 400 rounds through the upper. But overall first impressions have been very impressive.
