Great value but requires a little work.
I was thinking about starting an AR-10 type build when I saw this receiver marked way down. Advertised as "blemished", but all I can find is one small defect in the finish. Only 4/5 stars because the proper lower parts kit is not available. Our community has become spoiled with the AR-15 parts and how they fit together so well; AR-10 type builds require a little more effort. As a substitute, I ordered the DPMS LPK. The fire control group went together just fine. The bolt catch installed fine with the provided threaded pin. Mag catch went together fine, but I may replace the button with an extended one to allow better thread engagement. Rear takedown pin fit is decent. The tip of the pin is flush with the left side of the receiver. On the right side there is about 1/16" gap between the receiver and the head of the takedown pin. Fully functional, but a small black nylon washer could be installed to take up the gap. The front takedown pin would not seat properly. A few file strokes on one side of the pin head to create a flat side, and the pin would seat. By "seat" I mean that the detent will engage, making it functional. It still doesn't look quite right, if that bothers you. There is about a 3/16" gap between the receiver and the front takedown pin head. I think the best fit pin, for this receiver, would be made to AR-15 specs, but about 1/4" longer. I'll end up replacing the pistol grip with one that fits my hand better, and I need to decide what stock/buffer tube set up I want. Meanwhile, I will be on the lookout for an upper on sale to complete my budget build AR-10. I hope this helps someone.

This was dimensionally perfect, but reduced in price as a 'blem.' It had no more marks on it than it would have after my first use really. Great price too, nearly a hundred less than comparable items.

There are no100 percent lower parts kit compatible M5 lower parts kit work but you need to buy a threaded bolt catch pin to work as an Anderson lower parts kit the takedown pins are not 100 percent compatible The rear take down pin will stick out and the front take down pin needs to be flattened on the side. That accepts the spring pin I think it should be discontinued as the actual Anderson manufacturing company is completely out of business

Since my previous review was removed, I figured I should write a new one. I purchased one of these lowers. The LOWER PARTS KIT GEN II IS PROPRIETARY. OTHER KITS DO NOT WORK ON THIS. THE CORRECT ONES ARE SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE. YOU CANNOT FINISH THIS BUILD WITHOUT MODIFICATION.
