Our Rosco 5.56 (NATO) barrels are designed to meet the modern day carbine shooters requirements. We are a long way from our daddy’s Sporter AR, and those specs just won’t cut it anymore. From properly managed dwell times for SBR’s, to running Suppressed, or setting up a balanced patrol carbine we have incorporated your needs into our engineering. We have successfully accomplished this by picking the right twist rates, gas port diameters, and barrel materials according to the barrel we are making (not a lazy blanket method). We have also balanced input from our consumers and military end users in order to bring you the product you need, not just the one we want to sell you.

Perfect For Our "Retro" XM177E2 Build
This barrel fit & finish are top notch. It's was hard to find a barrel these days for "Retro" builds that upgrade the barrel from the old "Pencil Barrel" (.625)" with a 1-12 twist to a NATO barrel with a 1-7 twist to use more modern ammo. Even though this barrel is a heaver .725, it fit the build perfectly. We needed a 16 inch barrel to be compliant but not a modern M4 type. This barrel was perfect! We used all Retro XM177E2 furniture and it came out better than the ones available a few years back. Also with the 16 inch barrel no welding or pinning of a muzzle device was needed. It looks great in a repro M16A1 upper, and the longer barrel does not detract from it's cool Retro looks. We built this for our dad who served with the Navy's Mobile Riverine Forces from 1969 to 1972. My dad's boat had 2 of them on board. They were easier to handle in tight spaces.
